In our previous blog post, we mentioned that each state is specific in their requirements for safety gear onboard a personal watercraft. It's a great idea to look into your local state regulations to make sure that you are operating your PWC legally. That being said, there are a few items that we carry with us regardless of the circumstances. This list was curated for a long distance trip and includes an overabundance of safety equipment and backup. As the saying goes: "Prepare for the worst and hope for the best!" Feel free to use this as a jumping off point and add additional equipment as dictated by your travel plans, weather and water conditions, personal requirements, and state regulations!
Look for our Part Two blog for checklists for emergency equipment and operator equipment!
